Our Story —

Welcome to Osteria Aventino, where the heart of Italy comes alive in the Windsor community. Owned and operated by Pina Maceroni, a passionate restaurateur since 1995, and her partner Nunzio Romanazzo, our Osteria is a celebration of our interpretation of Italian cuisine, heartfelt hospitality, and meaningful connections.

Our journey comes full circle as we return to the original location of Pina’s first restaurant, La Zingara, which opened in 1995. After moving down Erie Street for many years, we are thrilled to be back where it all began, honouring the roots of our story while crafting a new chapter for Osteria Aventino.

Named after the Aventino Keyhole in Rome, our Osteria draws inspiration from its unique charm, which reveals an unexpected and perfectly framed view of St. Peter’s Basilica. Just like that keyhole, Osteria Aventino offers a fresh perspective—a gateway to authentic Italian cooking and the joy of social dining. Here, meals are more than food; they’re experiences meant to be shared, fostering connection, discovery, and a sense of home.

At Osteria Aventino, we honor creative variations of classic dishes, using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients to cook our dishes and pizzas in our original wood-burning oven.
